lHi all,
the time has come to move this on a to a new home where it will make a fantastic and quite unique project car for somebody!
Long and short is that I purchased the car 5 years ago and it was used a s a fun demo vehicle and test bed for my detailing company. It was then loaned out twice to help people who were in need of short term transport. It has just come back to me and, regrettably, it wasn't quite cared for as much as when I had ownership of it! So, now it is being offered as a very characterful car that wears all of its patina and history with pride.
This is the 1.6, 5 speed manual. It is on a VOSA verified 42k miles. I have just had it MOT'd - it had a new spring, top hat and brake pipes. The battery is only months old. The windscreen was replaced about 18 months ago. I drove it back from MOT and it does everything it should. Just to be honest with people, the fuel gauge was intermittent, the radio wasn't holding preset stations when switched off (simple rewire needed)
The car is remarkably solid underneath and hasn't ever been welded.
The paintwork is now characterful and wears its patina with pride! I was considering having the roof and bonnet repainted but to be honest I think the car needs to go as is and leave the new owner to decide the direction they wish to take it in. There is a pressure dint in the tailgate which would push out as it hasn't creased the metal. I believe there is also one is a rear quarter. The missing door strip is in the car. Both mirrors appear to have been replaced at some time as a burgundy colour is now showing through.
The car comes on its TSW Stealth alloys but there are a set of original steel wheels (and possibly trims?) that were put in storage.
Interior is grubby in places but no rips or damage are evident.
I did post up in the What's it worth section but didn't get any feedback. There seem very few around to compare it to. A mint one on ebay is currently up at £3000.
So, I am starting interest on this one at £1000 and am happy to be advised otherwise or bid any genuine offers.
Would appreciate any shares of this car as would love to see an enthusiast take it away and make it something special to them.
Thanks for taking the time to read. Best wishes, Paul
