Due to the fact we had a year off, I thought it was a good idea to fit in an extra car show…
The VBOA show was this weekend, at Sywell, which is close by and absolutely lovely, so I went with Tom.
I have to make an admission here, I’m not a fan of car shows where all the individual flavours get parked together. I remind myself of Alan Partridge at the country fair… ‘cabbages, cabbages, I don’t like cabbages let’s get through this lot’. For example, the HS chevette is a lovely car, I would stop and look at one, but I don’t want to look at 3 or 4 and try to spot the differences (if one had a diesel and another a V8 that’s different )
Anyway, my opinion is worth nowt and YMMV, it’s more as an apology for my photos, I took some that interested me, and some that I thought were generally interesting
Anyway, I liked this HA telecom van, which he’d kitted out (the escort estate was nice too)
There was some interesting heavily modified stuff
And here are some others
We parked up in day parking…. Van looks good amongst moderns (out-retroed by a mk2 cav though )
But maybe should have parked with MK3OC for a bit of diversity
After that we went to the Welland Viaduct which is about 15 miles further on, and saw some Yarnbombing in a village on the way there
