At the moment I am keeping my old Ford under a cover until a promised LockUp becomes available, although its up the back of the drive, behind my van its still very visible, so in my wisdom, I purchased a Waterproof , Breathable cover, after the rain last night,Its a hot sticky day today, I removed the cover the when I got home this evening, only to find the car soaking, the cover "felt" lining soaking, and the paint starting to micro blister, to say I'm slightly annoyed would been understatement, as it was not a cheap thing, a stinking review has been left...... What do you lot in my Computer recommend for me as a GOOD cover for my car. funny thing, I would really like one that works......

I've found just putting a thin nylon type material cap over the top to keep the cabin dry works best, keeps the worst of the ran out but is light enough that is still blows around a bit and lets the air in.

In my experience ‘one that works’ doesn’t exist. I don’t care what the manufacturer claims & how much they cost, they all sweat terribly & ruin paintwork.

I gave up believing any outdoor cover works a long time ago. Now, I'd only use one for a car which had paintwork I didn't care too much about. If there's an outdoor car cover that does not sweat, does not blow around, and is still water tight, I'd love to know if this 'unicorn' exists!

There is a good maypole one that's like a shiny silver blue material, there's a second maypole one which is like a grey dotted fabric and not very good.

Something with a frame that holds the fabric off the car is about the only thing that'll actually work IMO. Everything else is pretty much awful. Something along these lines:

Though it may well have one on the top / rear side we can't see..

How much space on your drive do you have? For the cost of a decent cover, I've had a few tent style covers over the years which aren't terrible. They ventilate reasonably well (I've never noticed any condensation dripping inside and my cars have stayed dry) and providing you ground them properly, hold up to the elements. The last one only died because the sun trashed the tarp. If you have room it may suffice until your lock-up is available?

I’ve tried three different covers on my mgf All were useless , one was bought direct from Mercedes Benz for a friends clk, that one was probably the worst the car was full of mould inside even with the windows left partly down and when I removed it on a warm day the paintwork was soaking wet As said if you have room buy one of those car tents

Agree - mine traps loads of moisture under it, even under the car port, so have stopped using it all together.

Besides a cover as its still visible can you put up a fence of some description. Even if its a couple of planters with a trellis panel linking them and climbing plants so it's movable.
