I seem to recall someone on here recommending dishwasher tablets to clean a cooling system/radiator. If I try it does it matter if they are the posh lemony ones with the power ball action or whatever? How long should I leave it in for? Did I imagine it?
Thanks all.

I prefer denture tablets. Cheapo own brand ones are fine. Pop a handful in header tank, run the car for half hour to let it get hot. Leave overnight. Flush out.

Citric acid is brilliant. It's cheap as chips and dissolves Calcium in minutes.
You can buy it in supermarkets, Boots etc or homebrew shops.

I flushed it through till it ran clean, then ran it up to temp with the denture tablets, and this lot came out..
