It is a lovely car, but as you say absolute top dollar.

This was being discussed over on the Mini Forum, to me it seems like a good price for it given that a project of one of these would now be 4-5K.
To those who favour originality they will look down on it and claim its overpriced but if someone wants a nice classic daily driver then this would be a really good purchase in my view.

Love that - but I’d want to switch the fascia out for the period instruments, and replace the modern indicator repeaters for period correct Lucas ones as fitted to 1100/1300’s.

That was me on TMF, different username. It would be perfect for me, I think it's worth the asking, just I'd like to have some monies in reserve in case of any issues.

You can always make an offer on it, given the current uncertainty in the economy people might be a bit more prepared to move a bit on price.

Have a good look at the panel gaps on the leading edge of the bonnet. Then both door gaps hinge side versus lock side. Then the lower rear corner of both doors sitting very proud of the surrounding coachwork. That doesn't look like that good a restoration and if it were the listing would be flooded with in-progress photographs. A quick Google suggests featuring MBM Minis of Bristol might not be a good marketing ploy: www.theminiforum.co.uk/forums/topic/72114-mbm-bristol-are-they-still-around/As with eternaloptimist I would want to replace the dash - but I would replace the wheels with period correct ones. MINILITES!

theoldman you’re right - panel fit isn’t great- suspect they weren’t that poor when new! The rear door gap looks a bit ropey as well.

The dashboard is the thing that spoils it for me too. That and the horrible modern steering wheel and column shroud. The modern seats look wrong to me too but I could probably live with them.
