Hi all,
So my ambitions are greater than my time, energy and effort so this Scenic (which was originally purchased as an engine donor for the Twingo) is up for grabs. Recent MOT fail but has ticket for about 3 weeks if you get in quick!
The facts...
2000 Renault Scenic, 1.6 petrol, 122k, recent cambelt and water pump with paperwork
Interior in great shape for the age
Twin sunroofs
Comfortable, practical, relatively frugal for a box on wheels. Rear seats slide, fold, pull out - the works
Scrubs up remarkably well
Reversing camera built into bootlid and dashcam fitted
16" alloys with good tyres all round
Now it's cheap for a reason - it failed MOT today and will need some jobs doing for a fresh ticket - namely
N/S coil spring
N/S ball joint
And the biggie - it failed on emissions. Garage seem to think catalytic converter, not lambda sensor. No warning lights on the dash.
Other known issues include:
Electric mirrors not working
Sunroofs need attention - they both work but intermittently, so I've unplugged them
Fuel flap borked so you need to lock/unlock with central locking button
Rear arches getting a little crusty, but not structural and nothing shows on MOT.
Honestly if I had the space I'd keep her, she's been a faithful barge throughout lockdown, but the fleet's too big as it is...
