So I just went on the DVLA website to do a change of keeper update for the v5, upon trying selecting the option to do this it says "This service is only available 7am to 7pm".
WTF is the point of an online service that has opening hours? Surely the idea of being able to do the V5 online is so you can do it out of hours?

It’s been like it for ages. I also have commented on the stupidity of it. But if there’s one government body who are beyond compare at making things unnecessarily difficult, it’s the DVLA. .

I can only assume that they monitor things with humans and things are printed and processed there an then. It’s been like it for ages. I also have commented on the stupidity of it. But if there’s one government body who are beyond compare at making things unnecessarily difficult, it’s the DVLA. . Try using the site to claim the 30 hours free childcare! It's so confusing.

Don't worry, here we still need to do EVERYTHING in person. Registration? In person, license renewals are in person. The only thing we can do remotely is renew registration.
It's because we have 50 small countries functioning as 50 individual small countries.

I always have my car MOTd at the local council garage. You can very conveniently book a slot online by filling out a form and selecting a first and second preference slot. Without exception they'll call you a few days later to tell you your preferred slots are not available... If you call them directly they've booked you in within two minutes, so not sure what the point of their online "service" is.
