The lure of the open road, wind in your hair (piece), stringback gloves, a spot of racing at jolly old Goodwood on the weekend, midlife crisis, or even the purity of a real sportscar.
2 seaters we love in here, please.
The Melkus RS1000, bonus obscure points for it having a mid mounted 3 cylinder Wartburg engine
And a newer version
Ginetta G12. Fantastic tiny car that would frighten the Ford GT40 around twisty tracks Pretty, too
Ginetta G33. Fairly sure it had a 3.9 litre Rover V8, weighed not a lot and looks like sex on 4 wheels
TVR S. The car that relaunched TVR from making wedges. Only a Ford V6 in the early ones but great looking and a step-up from most low volume manufacturers. Not that it's saying a lot...
MG TC, made in the late 1940s even though it looked like it was mid 1930s. I saw "Diamonds on Wheels" when I was a kid and I've loved the TC ever since. One of the few MGs I'd give garage space for. Looks best a bit scruffy and with club racing numbers on ;D
