Temporary blurb taken from gumtree...
I am regretfully selling my wonderful Porsche 911 as I'm buying a house and the mortgage lenders are telling me I need a bigger deposit than I did a month ago.
The car is a year 2000 (W reg) Carrera 4 with a very hard to find specification;
Guards Red
6 Speed Manual
Black Extended Leather Interior (smooth leather, not the horrible ruffled kind)
3 Spoke Sports Option Steering Wheel
Non-sunroof
Stainless Steel Sports Exhaust (sounds great)
K&N Induction System
The car is on a set of Veloce 3.6 wheels, in the classic Speedline style, with Michelin tyres.
I have owned the car for 3.5 years and it has been used on an almost daily basis (I have another car for short trips to the shops etc), adding 22k miles in that time. It has been the most reliable and best driving car I've ever owned... and my last two cars were an Aston Martin and an Audi RS4.
The car has a full service history with Porsche main dealers and independent specialists.
In my ownership I have had 2x major services carried out by Aberdeen Porsche and one minor service by a reputable indy.
I have also replaced the following;
Thermostat - now a 'low temperature' version.
Water pump.
Radiator.
Various pipes, hoses and brake lines.
Front calipers.
Discs and pads all round, including handbrake shoes.
Engine mounts - now uprated 993 RS versions.
Probably lots of other stuff I have forgotten!
There's no untoward smoke from the exhausts, always excellent oil pressure and being a pre-2001 car it has the stronger dual-row IMS bearing.
These cars really are amazing to drive. Very usable and involving and will put a smile on your face every day. They're also appreciating in value as more people realise how much of a bargain they are... just check YouTube!
My car is not perfect and I've taken that in to account with the price. There are some rust bubbles around the wheel arches and the lacquer has lifted in a few places. It is a 20 year old car after all. Mechanically it's great, with only a very very minor steering rack leak.
My intention was to replace the engine lid, front wings and bonnet with carbon fibre items and have the car resprayed.
Parts available by separate negotiation:
Carbon fibre ducktail spoiler and all the parts to go with it.
Short shifter kit.
Excuse the poor photos, I will upload better ones ASAP.
124,300 miles on the clock.
£12,250.
May accept an interesting part exchange up to £5k in value. My tastes are varied so Clio 182, Golf Mk2, Porsche 924S, Jag XJS... try me!
