Hi all.
I bought this XJR at the beginning of the year and had big plans for it.
It was booked in for a full respray and then all the work places were closed so that had to be knocked on the head.
Supercharged straight 6, 4 litre, RWD, automatic.
Second most beautiful wheels you'll see on a modern (ish) Jaguar.
So negatives first -
1) The bodywork is POOR.
2) The oil pressure gauge is sporadic. It's been that way for 11 years. It can be replaced, but the replacement is a basic on/off switch. So it'll stay half way, until there is no oil pressure at all. By the time the gauge has told you that, it'll be too late.
3) Exhaust centre box is now blowing.
4) Accident repaired in 2009 - front and rear bumpers are not original.
5) Front tyres (Pirelli Asymmetric) will not pass another MOT.
6) It usually hunts at idle. Never dies, just hunts up and down by 100 revs or so.
I'd imagine there are others.
There is an untested LPG system, which the previous owner used regularly.
I don't/haven't used it and also haven't removed any components in the system.
I carried out an oil and filter change and replaced the six spark plugs when I bought it, too.
Rear tyres are Continental and have loads of tread left on them.
Lights work, electric seats, mirrors etc all work.
P4 XJR number plate is included.
Very extensive service history, sheets and sheets of receipts/invoices to include (but not limited to) -
- Head gasket replaced, new cylinder head bolts etc.
- The previous owner fitted sportier suspension dampers.
- Stainless steel cat back exhaust system.
- Gearbox filters, fluid change etc
- Belts/tensioners/idlers etc
- Numerous suspension components replaced
There is tonnes of paperwork on top of the above.
Hasn't failed an MOT, or even had an advisory, for 14 years.
2 owners since 2004. Previous owner had for over a decade.
Light leather but with the much nicer darker wood.
I can email a video to anyone who is interested.

Finding these 6 cylinder XJR's for sale is becoming increasingly difficult.
Well under 100 currently taxed.
Vehicle is MOT'd, taxed and insured so viewing and (driven) test drives welcome.
Just a point to note, the body work is poor, but there hasn't been a single corrosion advisory for the underside in the MOT history.
So it's purely aesthetics.
Front wings are bolt on, easily replaced.
Only for sale due to ever expanding home improvements.
If you happen to be into motorcycles, too, my very, very clean NC29 will be up for sale.
Probably no P/X, as I need to sell these two in order to fund the house, but feel free to make an offer, just in case.
Any questions, please get in touch.
Thanks, Stuart.
