The low being the when the PhoenixCapri Mk2 fell over on track. Yeah that was my low too............ Blown_Imp and I laid the track out complete with a really nasty cone section on the back straight (elf and safety - we wanted to keep the speeds low but give people some fun ancd a challenge) - we chuckled as we set it up cos in car it looked an utter curse word but the first time we actally test drove it it was OK but it was a bit deceiving as all cone walls are the gap was bigger than it looked you just needed to approach with vigour - wiggle thro and then when the car was settled nail it PhoenixCapri approached and exited with vigour - I may have given bad advice!!!

It was a gut-wrenching thing to watch, it all happened so quickly! I'd been out on track in my e30 (the wagon pictured above) but it was slow enough and neutral enough to not get out of shape. I can't believe I didn't take a picture of the GSE (or the Wartburg) but I've just had a look through 2009 folder and found a few shots of the GSE on track. There is a thread that I made at the time but all of the pictures are tainted with photobucket badness so I might have to sort that out tomorrow.

I've been guilty of using facebook for the last few years to host my pictures and only very rarely cross-posting, I'm making a conscious effort to post more though.

I'm grateful for your efforts there are pictures I've never seen before although 500 in one hit is too much for my internet and I can only see the first 250 before my internet says curse word off

Cool to see some stuff that's not? Kicking around any more.
How many of those (and owners) are still active on here?

Love this thread thanks, might go sit in the garden with 5 litres of scrumpy and the car idling and pretend I'm at a car show.

mk14dr Thanks for sharing these, can't believe it's 10 yrs ago nearly! Certainly brings back memories, you even have a shot of my old CRX as well bstardchild - I might not have considered the "let the car settle" bit, I shouldn't have been chasing times was bound to push too much. Still, the cars that came out of the ashes of this one have been immense fun and the Capri is definitely a better car in every way. Always a silver lining

Cool to see some stuff that's not? Kicking around any more. How many of those (and owners) are still active on here? I still lurk on here. RR 2010 was the first proper show that I took my Nova to and I came back a changed man! It’s parked somewhere on the field, I think it was over on the right as you went in. What a great experience that was, I’ve only managed to get to one other in 2012 and the Weekender in 2019. I cannot wait to get to another one!

Quality pics. I never made it to any of the Haynes shows, or the Shelsley ones actually. Don't know what the future holds other than if I can make it to another Gathering it won't be in anything remotely retro. Last thing I went to was the Euro Finals at The Pod with my wife last year. Took photos, not sure if I did a thread.

So many familiar cars and faces! Can't believe it was a decade ago. I'm really missing car shows now that the weather is nice and sunny, so this blast from the past pic thread provides a bit of relief. Thanks for sharing it!
