The Fleur-De-Lys classic car show held at Thornes Park in Wakefield has been a staple of my show season for as long as The Gathering and much like The Gathering the standard and variety is mind-blowing.
There's lots of stuff that returns year on year, plenty that I see at other local shows but it's always worth going as there is something very relaxed about a Friday afternoon show.
Lets get straight to it:
Fresh off the boat
Firenza
Escorts
Arrow
Handsome gentleman's club
Arches for days
A pair of pewter Jags
Different ways to get the wind in your hair
Green Caribbean
A familiar 245
Ryans 144s that I see at work every (good weather) day
What is to be said of a DS?
Hard mk3 Capri
Period colour, period wheels, period win.
A cad's Jag
Hhhhhnnng...
Ooooooft...
E28 520
ARR 'Cuda
Sunbeam Talbot
Long distance K10
Wild custom built on an '80s GMC chassis
Early Camaros of differing flavours
Honest '68 Mustang with a story to tell
Mercury Breezeway
Those fan exhausts though...
Increasingly rare french barge was good to see
As was this AX GT. Has to be a super scarce thing nowadays?
I wonder what this is running to warrant the duel headlight air intakes
More Arrow goodness
'79 Toyota Corolla Sprinter, 24K miles from new!!
C Body Fury wagon. I love the sculpted rear (Oooh Er!)
Senatrons Dad.
Forsyth spec
Notch, natch.
745 was glorious.
Lovely '28 Bentley replica.
131 Mirafiori Sport
Big love for an SZ, stunning things. And this was just parked up amongst late arrivals!
I have a hankering for a KG too, especially when they look like this
Another Audi Coupe
The 'idriveaclassic' Metro
SWB Sport Quattro
Delicious DB6
Austin Atlantic
More beautiful Jaguar
My mate Elliots Thames 300E
Hillman Husky
XJS looks well on modern wheels
More KG
I want to paint something S15 midnight purple
A couple more of the Atlantic
A slammed Beetle is always a good look.
Loads of effort has gone into this
Hench.
Lukasz's stunning Skoda 136R
That Husky from afar
A few more of the City Turbo running around the field. It was the first time the guy had driven it as it had come directly from the docks.
I see this every year, I think I've got shots of it from the last 12 or 13years.
And finally an Escort at a jaunty angle.
