Heres one that has definitely been done before but, for £5 on ebay in lockdown, why not!!
The plan is to make a similar Car to the one my folks had way way before I was born. I have a photo somewhere but it was basically a 1968 1100 3 door in Dark Blue. I'd love that car now but they hated it lol. Apparently It was always braking down, wouldn't start etc. My Dad says when he took it to the garage mechanics were throwing their tools down. It ended up with an engine change and was no better... traded it for a mk4 Spitfire which they loved dearly. Probably a carb problem or something I guess.
Anyway. I started off painting the wheels and all the black bits.
A bit sloppy on the wheels but the kit does come with centre caps.
Then i got stuck into the engine. I tried to make the bottom look like its had an oil leak thats dried on it.
Then I came up with another plan! I'm going to make it as though Its about 20 years old and a Car someone has lovingly cared for... but has ended up in the hands of someone who bought it for cheap and is just running it into the ground now (oil leaks bits of rust etc). This means I can keep the car nice but tatty here and there. Good practice for the mk2 Transit Van model I have waiting to go too.
