Right, first off - I'm not an idiot. Buying a car is not really an essential journey right now. Buying this car DEFINITELY isnt - trust me. I'm not expecting this to shift any time soon BUT I'm not working, it's been a lovely day, and I've been able to get some pics of my Jaguar. So if people are even remotely interested I'm happy to answer questions, send pics and videos etc etc with a view to moving it on when conditions allow
123k on the clock, 6 months MOT
I've purchased another car that's going to need money spent on it, and this is just sitting gathering dust. This was bought on a whim at the start of the year to scratch BOTH my V8 and Jag itches - and it's done its job.
THE GOOD:
Starts first turn
Recent battery (from the looks of it)
Pretty much everything works - cruise control, sports mode, all electric windows and seats, aerial, central locking on the remote bipper, trip computer etc. etc. with no warning lights on the dash.
Starts, stops, drives as it should - genuinely the most comfortable cockpit I've ever sat in. The V8 can shift (not that you'd notice) if you want it to (I leave the sport button on), but it's not that kind of car. Goes through the gears smoothly
Recent full set of tyres all round. FullRun Challengers - I'm sure they're as space age as the shuttle, and we all know how that turned out!
Full size spare
I popped a new air filter in because the P/O had a non-start issue that boiled down to an ancient & blocked element
Not bad on juice (which is now relatively cheap!), 25mpg perfectly doable on a run.
Cheap!
MOT until end of October and it's remarkably clear. I say remarkable because...
THE BAD:
She's rough. Like really, really rough. Even from 10 feet she's no looker. There are dings, dents and rust aplenty. I've pictured the worst of it as best I can.
No history worth mentioning - a few receipts and the most recent MOT
Separate key for doors/boot and ignition - one green, one black
Aircon needs regassed. I just sling the windows down and dangle an arm outside like a proper yokel.
Has far too many stickers.
The old headlining was sagging down and 20+ years of slightly smoky, musty fabric touching my head gave me the heebie-jeebies. So I cut it out and stickerbombed it.
Did I mention she's rough?
I'll let the pictures do the talking:
