When i lived down south there was always car swap meets and car boot sales. but since ive moved up north ive found that the car boots are just people selling proper curse word and the car swap meets seem non existent. I Wonder if they are better down south than up here.
Any recommendations?

There are autojumbles at Rufforth and Wetherby, personally my experience with them hasnt been great. I used to travel to newark autojumble but was disappointed with that one last time as well. I hope someone comes along with a more positive answer.

Don't forget the NSRA northern swap meet, at Magna museum in Rotherham, around the end of October. (This year's date isn't confirmed yet)

Newark auto jumble this Sunday (March 1st). not a million miles from you. I take a van & trailer full of classic car stuff to sell every month through the winter, always good.

Squires cafe in South Milford have a auto jumble on the 4th Saturday of every month. It's free but quite small and mostly bike stuff, only worth it if you are passing by. I thought Huddersfield only ran in the winter months? It was good when it first started out, but it was slowly turning into more paint your own pottery figurines than old tat.
Rufforth was ok but mainly bike stuff iirc. I haven't been to Newark in probably 15 years I might give that a go again.

I think i went to the squires one when i was into bikes. and i didnt find anything to good. but as you said it is small so finding what i liked was harder.
How many people are local to yorkshire on here? perhaps a meet up would be good if there isnt one already

It all seemed to get swallowed up by the Northern Retro facebook group when that went massive, but I'm not on Facebook now so not sure if they're still doing things as it seemed to go quiet with regards meets/shows.

Maybe I picked a bad one late last year but it was mainly bike stuff, your usual market type traders selling things at prices higher than I can get them delivered to my house and random stuff like tea bags, toilet rolls etc.

Tea bags and toilet rolls wouldnt be useful cheap when i eventually figure out a workshop. but at the moment no need. myabe swap meets and autojumbles have gone slightly downhill recently as a lot is only bark parts and curse word really.

Rufforth will be this coming Saturday as its the first Saturday of every month. Bikes are mainly at the far end of the outside section but they do pop up all over, rest can be car parts and tooling. I go for the tools, it's classed as an autojumble and I suppose people want things to be able to work on their cars but you'll find all sorts of maching and welding bits, woodworking and plumbing and everything in between.

I did Newark yesterday, a great selling day.
In fairness there weren't that many good used car parts auto jumble stalls but there were some proper buyers (as opposed to the summertime wanderers with bored girlfriend in unsuitable shoes)
We took a load of grilles as well as trays full of used spares and, because we price to sell, not to show it and bring it home again, we sold a lot of stuff.
