I bought this Metro a few months ago with the intention of putting it back to standard, and keeping hold of it. However, things change and with me moving house in a few weeks could do with the extra cash, plus space in the unit it’s getting tighter, and I don’t want to leave it outside!
So, the basics;
1.4 GTa big carb model.
5 owners, 38k, loads of old MOTs etc to warrant the miles.
MOT until May, with no advisories and covered less than 2k in the last year.
Low with wide wellers. Custom stainless exhaust, not too loud though.
Instead of going to town on a full repaint etc, I’ve just given the tailgate a blow over as it has a silver one on previously. The car is absolutely solid as a rock, but the paintwork is a bit tatty in places. It’s a bit of a ten footer; looks good from 10 feet away, but the closer you get you notice the marks and surface rust! However, it drives fantastically! Starts first turn, doesn’t overheat and is huge fun to drive. It goes well too, better than expected!
The interior is all there, and in good condition other than the rear of the headlining. Whoever fired the tailgate was a bit of a butcher, and it seems they cut the headlining in each corner to access the bolts!
There’s plenty of pictures, so should be plenty to go off. I’m based in Chesterfield, and have it stored in a barn so can show you around it on evenings or weekends.
My personal opinion is, it would be great put back to standard height and wheels, tidy up the body and keep as an investment. Having said that, I know quite a few people love this look, so each to their own!
Any questions, ask away!
