the resurection my 66 triumph spitfire that has come out of a 30 year garage hibernation earlier this year has just started. i stripped off the front suspension for rebuilding and whilst looking at alloy front hubs, i found that merlin motorsport sell alloy hubs with different pcd's.
this is cater for all the kit cars using triumph front suspension but beefier rear axles from other cars which meant different pcds on the front and rear.
also there is a real crappy choice of wheels for the spit and only go up to 5.5 or 6" wide with not enough dish. i want to go 7x13 with 175/50/13's FTW and as i have a spare set of mini (4x4") minilights with a nice dish with tyres........
just need to check the centre bores of the mini rims/new hubs though and get the rear hubs/drums redrilled.
yeay! ;D

have just checked centre bores - triumpoh hub is about 58mm and the mini wheels are about 65mm also as mini wheels are lug centric, and th triumph studs are the same pitch as minis, i can use the nice chrome mini tapered nuts (goes to get merlin motorsport number...) dread to think what the TSSC flat caps are gonna think

My revos must be pretty rare in triumph pattern then hehe. Should look cool on wide minilights.

I wouldn't class Triumphs as having a difficult stud pattern. Plenty of specials and race cars used Herald parts in their construction which means there is definitely some good kit about if you know where to look.

I tried the historic parts place but didn't have what I wanted. i'm sure there are wheels out there but are either pricey or hard to come by . what is available off the shelf doesn't have enough dish and has been done before many times before. in the uk you don't see many spits with "dished" minilites in 7". talking of dish, I could get 7x13's in the weller style new but isn't a style I like. also I could get banded steels but old ones are a bit of a gamble and getting some new ones done would cost £40 per corner plus buying the standard steels, then swopping my current tyres over. that's @ £250 plus. using a mini (or ford stud pattern) is more flexible and althought he alloy hubs are £200 pair, they are half the weight of the steel ones. my inspiration:-

It might also be worth giving Jigsaw a call about aluminium hubs. I know you've got some mini wheels but I'd be inclined to go for a Ford pattern as there's potentially more choice in 13" I'd have thought. Sticky outy wheels like that Spit /\ will look ace but you'll need super stiff suspension to avoid arch interference! That one is a race car after all! I guess I'm lucky I like unusual period wheels

Poor choice of wheels and no adapters commercially available. Solution? I made my own adapters in Aluminium to convert to Vauxhall Nova. Huge choice of wheels for the chav charriots that they are !

that spit /\ /\ i think has something like 8" width at the front and 9's i think at the back. i won't be going that drastic. i've calculated that my mini 7x13's should stick out a further 38mm than the current 5.5 GT6 rims, which is just right i think. the mini offset puts the inner edge of the rim roughly in the same place as the standard triumph ones. suspension wise i have uprated gaz shocks and springs (300lb) up front and corvette air adjustable shocks on the back. my rear spring hasn't dropped either, so suspension "should be" OK
