I've got a 190 in for a bit of work. 1.8 auto, 1993, 156k on the clock.
Blower motor not working at all. Fuse is fine. I've stripped it out. Bench testing the motor direct to 12v makes it work. There's power to the connectors at the scuttle. Greased the motor but putting it back in situ and it's still dead. What am I missing?
Or should I just bung a new motor in and try it?

I've no experience of the car you're working on but from similar issues in other cars it's the fan selector switch that's gone (burnt out) each time - not sure if the connectors at the scuttle are beyond the switch in your case though.

Aren’t Merc fans famous for getting through brushes in the motors? My W202 certainly did.

I would have thought it was past it - if there's power to the connectors? It's 25 years old and fairly simply wired as far as I can make out? I don't do electrics!
