This is the dual circuit brake master cylinder I want to used on the Corsair they were fitted on export Corsairs but not UK ones. So Its a mod to improve the breaking system. My is I know all the threads are imperial on this bur what are the thread sizes for the fittings and what do the coloured caps signify? Any and all sensible info gratefully accepted?

Hi, A point to note is that the pipe ports are on the 'wrong' side, it will make installing the fittings difficult because it will be very close to the inner wing. You could try getting some Banjo fitting conversions to ease the situation. Land Rovers have the same type M/C with the ports on the other side in the require imperial flavour, although making up metric / imperial pipes is not difficult.
Colin
Edit: Sorry forgot to add the thread sizes are 3/8" unf and 7/16" unf for 3/16" pipe, however be aware some 7/16" fittings are for use with 1/4" pipe. Available on ebay and all good suppliers.

I intend to use Banjo's for the very reason you mentioned.
Now no joke being a child of the 1970's and not fully understanding imperial thread sizes is the green plug 3/8" size or the red one I know all the piping is 3/16" Dia?
I would sooner ask now.

Hi, They're just transit dust plugs, I don't think the colours for anything more scientific than different size holes.
Yes, it looks like the red is the conventional 3/8" unf and the green is 7/16" unf.

Side A will go to the front brakes and b will feed the rears, with side a going through the Servo before reaching the brakes Colin

Hi, Plumbed through a shuttle valve if one circuit fails the good side pushes the shuttle across to seal it off so there's no fluid loss and you still get a good pedal on the good side.

They are the same thread no? 3/8unf I'm betting
The plugs are meaningless
Just measure them rather than relying on what people on the internet say. As this thread seems to prove atleast half of them are going to be wrong.

Ok all I need some help on car builder site I have found 3/8" and 7/16" banjo bolts but I cannot find the banjo fittings with male or female 7/16" threaded ends so I can connect my brake pipes directly to the banjo fittings or any female 7/16" connectors for the pipe to go into any Ideas?
One thing I don't want to do is mix metric with imperial threads.

Where are you based? Locally to me I've got a couple of pipe and hydraulic specialists who are quite happy to help with pipe sizes and fittings, just take the cylinder in
