Hello guys need some help, the Allen screws holding my rotor arm has rounded off so was wondering if there is a way of removing them without damaging the sharft holding the rotor in place, all help and advice is highly appriciated in advance Thank you   |

Somtimes you can tap them round with a punch but in this case it might be tricky.
Welding an old Allen key or nut to them is another option. Again might start melting bits if you get it too hot.
Third option is drill the heads off I guess.

Could drill them but wouldn't it damage the thread of it whilst drilling through the head of the screw, I would like them to come out whole if possible, the new rotors do come with screws so once these are out it should be ok hopefully lol |

Well once the head is gone you should be able to remove what they are holding on and grip the remaining shank of the bolt maybe? It's hard to tell across the internet!

These look good so do they basically bite in to the hole of the rounded Allen ? Yes. Used a very similar set to remove a damaged head bolt last summer after all else failed. I used the mac tools version but these should be as good. |

I picked up a set of “Damaged screw removers” from Aldi recently - worked on a Torx that had rusted out (wheel arch to bumper screw) although they’re meant for rounded cross head screws. Basically a cross between a stud extractor and a left handed drill bit.

If you are not saving the rotor arm smash it out and grip with mole grips etc.If salvaging use a torx bit but try doing it up a bit first.

The torx bit trick works a treat, squirt a bit of release oil around, then try and tighten the screws first

Torx bit and an old school impact driver usually works for me. A bit of heat usually helps.

Id put a flat punch on the head and give it some blows. The shocking alone often does the job but also it often tightens up the hex by peening the sides inwards then you can knock the correct hex key into the tightened hole and remove the often loosened bolt.
I've done it this way many times.
