Previous owner had this as his company car, and then he bought it off them. Owned it for over 18 years.
Runs and drives well. No leaks or overheating. Starts fine after letting the glow plug light go out. Sounds clattery like all the OM606 do on a cold start, a bit like a big diesel locomotive starting up. Once warm, the engine purrs nicely.
Pulls well in every gear. Turbo kicks in as it should. No flat spots or power loss.
Gearbox is solid and gear changes are as they should be.
The ride on the suspension is smooth and supple, but would do with a few anti-roll bar links / bushes, as it knocks over rougher road surfaces.
Brakes are fine and the big car stops well.
As you can see in the photos, it is in good condition, with minimal rust. £1200 bill in 2012 for wing replacement and all 4 arches repaired and painted. Marks, blemishes and stone chips as to be expected of age. A couple of the door tops have some rust bubbling, not only surface and this is not the usual 210 rot box. Rear spare wheel compartment and the other side floor has corrosion, and this was mentioned on the current MOT.
Interior is in good condition, and all in one piece. No rips or tears, but the usual wear on drivers seat bolster and there is some wear on the rear leather as well. Driver's side head rest doesn't move with the electric adjuster.
Apart from the reverse lights which is giving a warning (presumably needing new bulbs), everything else works as it should, with no warning lights on the dash. A/C could do with a re-gas.
