Evening.
If anybody tells you start up life is glamorous kick them swiftly in the Jacobs....
My wife currently drives the ultra glamorous and desirable Vauxhall Corsa 2004 in the much sought after 3 cylinder variant, an instant classic.....
Clutch went to the floor today so had to go and collect her and said Corsa. Quick bit of diagnosis and I think it is the clutch master cylinder that has given up the ghost.
This is my diagnosis procedure so can somebody that is more in tune with Vauxhall’s check over my thought process.
1. Topped off brake master cylinder, clutch pumped by my able assistant.
2. With clutch pedal held down released bleed nipple on slave cylinder - no fluid.
3. With nipple open pumped clutch pedal. - no fluid.
4. Removed fluid pipe from slave cylinder, pumped clutch pedal - very little fluid,
5. Everything reattached, head under dash, no sign of fluid but when pedal pumped sounds like fluid bubbling.
Prognosis - clutch master cylinder failed.
Or... have I missed something?
No room under dash so it is going to be a right basthardo to replace but a darn sight better than the slave which would require the box out.
Anyone agree with my diagnosis?
Thanks.
P.
