Probably been done before, but instead of styles we don’t like.. What is a truly UK custom style? So I think engine changes and tuning... we’ve been doing that since Bentley blowers and Brooklands A clean look, the cafe racer look (I know there was a thread for them on here, that look) But what else, discuss

I'm not going to post a picture of that barn find Marina !! But I think that Marina was inspired by American culture, like 70s custom vans.... or am I wrong?

A South London look MK1 Escort. Don’t get me wrong it looks great, but the only people who came up with that stupid name were from South London. It was being done everywhere, it’s just Northerners weren’t that vain as to try & own it

I was going to say south london look. Which could be compared to the euro look or the 90's bodykit era Which could be compared to all sorts of crazyness Or the 70's custom era which is arguably inspired by cars from the USA Cafe racer though

I was thinking that if we had a 'look', it's probably the sleeper, I think if you distilled the essence of the original English motoring enthusiast it would be more about the go than the show.

the euro look or the 90's bodykit era Which could be compared to all sorts of crazyness That golf would have been categorized as retro look here in germany: adding lots of original chrome parts like mirrors, door handles or bumpers even at later cars, that had all black plastic parts already. love it or hate it, the boy racer max power scene was "british" It may have been a thing in britain, but in france too and widespread in europe in general, so I wouldn not call this british. Like bmcnut said 90s bodykit era, an evolution of the 80s body kit era which wasn´t that extrem - apart from wide body kits with really wide wheels (like 345s on a golf mk1 etc.) One thing I would combine with the term british: twin engined cars, whenever I saw one in a mag it was british. I think pistonpoppers comment was going to that direction.
