Last night I posted this in one of my Instagram stories (I'm slowly getting the hang of it all... follow me www.instagram.com/retromotoring/ if you like): and it was suggested that I post it here. Which is a great idea. So where is it now? That is taken from Cars and Car Conversions mag, April 1978 if it helps. I'd ring Steve but somehow I doubt I'd get through!

Don't forget there probably have been 10-15 Marshall Firenzas, some special saloons, some British touring cars, home grp A, and other permutations, and the way Gery raced he was never known to be gentle with cars,I have one picture with gerry climbing out of a firenza which is on its roof, the next day he raced a mint car, Shells were never a problem getting from Vauxhall, as gerry knew a few people at Vauxhall as well as Bill Blydenstien did, ..... Win on Sunday and Sell on Monday

i know where at least one car and one shell were being stored (aka dumped) back in the mid 90's. a former colleague lived next door to a relative of GMs and, being residents of the leafy shires with private roads and fields and things, space wasn't an issue, so they got left there. did get to look at them one evening during a party at said colleagues but much secrecy was required.
couldn't even begin to recall the exact locale but it was on the bucks/beds border

Also it's worth noting that just because it's got DTV along it, doesn't mean Gerry Marshall drove it, so it'd be interesting to know whether or not it had any kind of provenance included. For example I've recently seen the Mk1 Cavalier "Mega Bertha" described as an ex-Gerry Marshall car, when in fact it was never more than a bare bodyshell until it was completed in the last couple of years. It was never driven by Gerry M, or anyone else, in period.
