The sent in the wing looks very fixable to my untrained eye - I could pull the arch lining and get access easily enough. Except I have literally no idea what I'm doing. Rubber mallet? Block of wood? I've never repaired a dent in my life but this looks like it could be quite simple...?

New car already? You need to make sure you can access the back of the panel - plastic arch liner out etc. Sure you can arrange least make it look more presentable. Smart repair might be the answer if you want the best looking job though.

You will have plenty of time to tap out that dent before you are allowed back indoors 😂

I posted this query for technical advice, not condescension. You calling me a drip? Tap it gently out from the back starting where the damage is worse. Smoll hammer or use a bit of wood to spread the blow. Take your time and try holding a dolly on the outside. Or heavy bit of wood or club hammer with duct tape on the face to protect the paint. YMMV I'm more of a hit it and hope merchant than a time served panel beater ☺
