Did you not go in the Trabant museum? It’s at the side of Check Point Charlie, worth a look

lol, whenever we go abroad, or anywhere for that matter I annoy the wife taking pictures of cars... Sometimes I even take pictures of my own car just so I can show the world that I drove it there!

I'm in a similar position. My wife has a lot of patience for me. I was almost constantly stopping my bike to take pictures.

When I went to Berlin recently I thought quite the opposite, although it was the tail end of winter so a fair bit colder, maybe the Germans keep a lot of theirs tucked up in the bad weather too. Other than the usual tourist hire trabants and a couple of American cars (a 60s full-size and a 90s pickup) I barely saw anything of interest. Even 90s stuff was uncommon.

Was in Brittany at Easter and spotted some really nice cars , can never get them to upload from my phone on here though August will see me driving across France, Germany , Austria and Italy calling in at Munich and hopefully if time allows the BMW museum .

We were there the end of November last year, pretty much what I found, best city I have ever been though.

I couldn't say that I saw many retros there when I went in February 2018. Though Germans tend to register classics for the summer and lock them up for winter. The mix you've seen really does reflect the recent history of American, French, British and Soviet occupation. The amount of Trabis around is very impressive though.
