I've just picked up a Gunsons Timing Light and "Autoranger" for £1.50 . The light looks a lot different and slightly more risk of shock than the modern ones i was going to buy? Am i right in thinking one end goes on a Plug and one on the HT lead? (seems pretty obvious) and would this be just on Plug no:1? (same as the modern ones? )
Any advice with the "Autoranger"? I'm guessing i clip onto the battery terminals but what about the small (blue wire) crocodile clip??
i bought it as i was told i need to figure the dwell out on my Escorts points when re-newing them. Not lost any money if they don't work but i thought it was quite interesting. Its missing a button which i imagine is what makes it work... will have to figure that out.
Would the timing gun work with my Capri which is on Electronic Ignition ? this might be a silly question but i just don't know.
