Lovely weather, wasn't it? Perfect conditions to wander about and gawp at cars. First up, the Spring Sprint at Goodwood: DSC_8788 by dbizzle_, on Flickr DSC_8735 by dbizzle_, on Flickr DSC_8741 by dbizzle_, on Flickr DSC_8760 by dbizzle_, on Flickr DSC_8791 by dbizzle_, on Flickr DSC_8800 by dbizzle_, on Flickr DSC_8772 by dbizzle_, on Flickr DSC_8807 by dbizzle_, on Flickr DSC_8821 by dbizzle_, on Flickr DSC_8809 by dbizzle_, on Flickr DSC_8838 by dbizzle_, on Flickr DSC_8811 by dbizzle_, on Flickr DSC_8854 by dbizzle_, on Flickr DSC_8835 by dbizzle_, on Flickr DSC_8866 by dbizzle_, on Flickr DSC_8865 by dbizzle_, on Flickr DSC_8859 by dbizzle_, on Flickr

My local Ford dealer in Epsom had a nice little meet: DSC_8509 by dbizzle_, on Flickr DSC_8477 by dbizzle_, on Flickr DSC_8481 by dbizzle_, on Flickr DSC_8487 by dbizzle_, on Flickr DSC_8519 by dbizzle_, on Flickr DSC_8527 by dbizzle_, on Flickr DSC_8544 by dbizzle_, on Flickr DSC_8541 by dbizzle_, on Flickr DSC_8558 by dbizzle_, on Flickr DSC_8548 by dbizzle_, on Flickr

...and there was a little meet-up for journalists and PRs in Liphook, the only rule being that people bring their own pride-and-joy - no press cars allowed! I took H8 YAY down for a chinwag. Thank you.
Google only found ford falcons, but I just learned that typing the plate number into google did find front pics of that very car.

Are they speedline turinis on your R53? Look superb. Have a facelift JCW myself.
The PR meet looks interesting. I find it interesting to see what people are driving when reviews are written up on certain vehicles.
Splendid photos. Thanks for sharing.

Are they speedline turinis on your R53? Look superb. Have a facelift JCW myself. They are indeed - and thanks! No JCW for me sadly, although I have done a few bits to it - 17% pulley, Airtec intercooler, Eibach coilovers, anti-roll bars, camber arms and top-mounts, Ramair induction, EBC brakes, Scorpion exhaust... it's an ongoing project in PerformanceMINI Magazine

Well that far outranks mine!
Am I right in thinking you had a EP3 before this? How do you find the R56 compares?
I’m very eager to get mine to the ring. I hear IMM is our there next year. Cracking cars I feel!

I did, and you’re not the first person to ask that! On the whole I’d say they’re equally good - simply because they’re so different and each do different things well. The EP3 handles better as standard, but what I’ve done to the R53 brings it up to that level. The Honda engine is better, I love VTEC, but you have to thrash it to get the best from it, whereas the MINI - being supercharged - is more immediate. If someone were looking to buy and choosing between the two, I’d probably recommend the Civic. But I have properly fallen for this little R53!
