Evening all,
Up for sale is my 1993 Rover 416 GSi. I had big plans for getting this in perfect condition, as I love the shape of these but, as I'm sure you can all empathise with, life got in the way...
I'm not great at writing prose, so here's a good old fashioned list:
Bad points:
Good points!:
So, in summary it's a great car (subjective, I know) which has a good amount of very minor jobs to do on it; which is why I bought it! As it is though it's perfectly drive-able; I've been happily taking it out at weekends. A bargain at £600.
Try as I might, I can't seem to upload photos. It looks like they're being processed, but then the tasks disappear along with any trace of the pictures... So please find an album of images at the following link:

I'm not great at writing prose, so here's a good old fashioned list:
Bad points:
- Spots of rust above the windscreen
- Poor refinish on the rear nearside quarter (not me!)
- Lacquer peel on the roof
- Offside door cards are slightly collapsed at the top. (I found someone who has a matching full set on eBay, but they're in Church Stretton and I never got the chance to go. I'll give the buyer his contact details in case he's still got them -- was only a month ago or so and they didn't sell).
- Alarm is slightly funny: there's no fob, and when unlocking you need to wait a couple of seconds for a whirring sound and then can open the door, otherwise the alarm goes off. Prob an easy fix? I know you can get a matching fob, alarm and immobiliser(?) from eBay and fit that, but I was happy to live with the 2 second wait in the meantime!
- Passenger's window control doesn't work, but it works from the driver's control, so just a bad switch/connection on passenger door
- Can sometimes get a bit of clutch chatter pulling away; clutch could probably do with replacing at some point. I was looking forward to doing this the most!
- The rest of the car seems rust free; arches all good
- Only ~53k miles
- MOT until December
- Clean and well preserved interior; only a very small amount of droop from the roof liner
- Engine starts eagerly, and idle is rock solid
- Brand new front tyres
- Increasingly rare: only 33 on the road in the UK
- Fun to drive!
