I've owned this for 6 months and it's been brilliant but I've decided to be a bit more sensible and going to be going Mercedes diesel.
For anyone not aware these are based on the Toyota Avensis with GT4 running gear, they're actually the only car ever produced with the gen 4 3sgte and it's the most powerful version with 265bhp standard and is also the most economical and efficient of them all.
I'm only the 2nd owner since import and the only modifications carried out are the following;
Rays Gram light wheels
Stock JDM unit was removed and I'm keeping mine so generic DVD player now installed, works perfectly fine
HKS panel filter
TRD rear lights
1998
155km (around 96k)
Leather seats
Electric Windows all round
Electric mirrors
A/C
Usb ports in rear
Factory wind deflectors
Premium sound system (sounds good compared to modern stards even)
Semi-auto perfect for daily driving and being tiptronic allows you to change gears through steering wheel buttons
Original JDM flare
2 keys, immobilizer and some history of previous work.
In the last 5k miles it's had the following work done/parts fitted
Timing belt
Aux belt
Drive belt
Water pump
Hydraulic tensioner
Aux pulley
Driveshaft rebuilt(cv joint)
Driveshaft seal
Transmission fluid
Sump gasket and bolt set
Oil+filter
Coolant
Thermostat
2x Nankang tyres
Air con re-gas
Battery
The cambelt major service cost just over £1k by a GT4 specialist. Apart from non-critical consumable items it should cost you very little unless you wanted to go down the tuning route.
Overall in excellent condition for the year, no rust just scratches/the odd small scrape and imperfections as to be expected, wouldn't take much effort making it mint condition though.
Wheels could do with a returb if you wanted them perfect but definitely presentable as they are.
Exhaust has slight blow from join, doesn't effect performance but is audible.
Brakes are a little spongey and probably need a bleed. They work obviously but not as sharp as they could be.
N/S steering rack gaitor has a split and causes the steering to catch slightly, isn't detrimental to driving and only happened once whilst driving moving the other day, moved her around this morning and there's no catching at all! Probably due to the visitor trapping tie the rod slightly when turning. Wanted to be honest with noticing the split gaitor when I was looking for the issue though.
Very rare car over here, practical, fast, reliable and has been well looked after.
