The latest addition.... 1995 Honda Prelude, non-VTEC, 97k miles......ooooh, that looks like a nice coffee shop ;-) I've always loved these. Love the lights at the back. Love the front end. I remember being asked back in 1994 (the year the Lottery started and we all thought "it could be you") "so if you won the jackpot, what would you buy?" My answer was one of these Preludes. Something about them always appealed. This one came up locally via this site, seemed well looked after, and benefitted from a full respray in it's original Milano Red at some point in the near past. Worthy of a viewing, then some cash, then a train ride to Darlington to collect. Some issues that need addressing: The power ariel motor still works, but the gears are grinding when it reaches it's highest and lowest points. The milometer and trip meter both seem to have stopped ticking up There's only 1 key, but it works fine in all the locks The tyres are from 2010, and there was an MOT advisory for some slight cracking on one. I've had them off to balance them up, and they seem fine, but ideally I'll change them for some new ones on age alone. It has it's original factory cassette playing head unit, and a previous owner kindly (?) left some tapes in the car... After a quick coat of Autoglym Super Resin Polish... Love the futuristic 90's wrap around dash, with it's digital fuel and temp gauges... A few more cassettes in the centre arm rest... Yes, the plate is wonky, and my OCD will not let it remain so... All windows and light lenses are etched... Plans are to keep it standard. Completely standard. Can't be many like that now, and in cracking condition like this one.

Ah street organ classics volume 5. Legend of an album. It really took until volume 5 before the curators climaxed in their selection of all the best street organ songs ever produced.
Also hoping that the Lionel Richie cassette “can’t slow down” isn’t hinting at underlying brake problems.
Aside from the musical choices the car itself is lovely and agree fully about the rear lights, it has a side profile akin to an NSX, imho it’s only the panel between the headlights or maybe the width of the headlights that light the side down. But hey with my taste in cars I’m no authority to comment!
Enjoy.

Always loved the look of these too, the balance of curves & creases almost anthropomorphic like muscle & sinew over bones with a touch of aggression & smugness, invariably lost with the addition of body kits. Interior feels special with that dash & view out, despite silly window switch location & miss-matched gauges. Surprised yours doesn't have the tinted & backlit speedo/tach of the facelift (chrome h.light bezels, 2-bar nostrils & h.brake alongside g.shift), to let the gauges match better. I should spend actual money to get a good one rather than trying to save sad examples ! Sadly these don't seem to have attracted quite as many of the more mature owners who bought, kept & looked after the older Preludes for much longer. Congratulations upon finding such a nice one.

Nice one Chris. Another car that seems to have completely disappeared. Didn't think you would have sold the Mazda mind.

I thought I heard a couple of odd noises on Saturday, so got it up on my mate's ramps.... Snapped coil, which will be sorted sooner rather than later. It's clean under there though... Then straight from my mates garage, I headed up to Newcastle to collect some Rotas.... Pity they didn't fit the car, despite being told by the seller that they did. Great. He's agreed to take them back and refund, so that's ok. I then washed and waxed it again, in preparation for it's first big show, which was today... Molly the Cockerpoo always looks over her shoulder at the cars. A good sign, and litmus test that they are crackers. And at the show today...

I've always wanted one of these since playing the original Gran Turismo (I'll have mine in Cobalt Blue, thank you!). Lovely motor - I'm rapidly approaching having the FTO with wheels on the road so we'll head up and have a mini J-off very soon

What a lovely car. I am not sad that the Rotas did not fit. Not that I don't like them, it's more that it changes the look of the car to much. If I would change the rims I would look at factory rims. It's so rare to see a Prelude looking so good. The modern Rotas would not have done much for it looks. Buuuut they are only wheels and can be easily changed back to the stock ones and it's you car not mine!
