Hi,
I reluctantly have for sale my little Fiat Uno.
I've had the car since 2016, and bought it from the original lady owner. Prior to my ownership, the car had never been out of Manchester since it was new!!
The mileage is a genuine 38,000, and considering the age the wheel arches, sills, floor, doors etc are remarkably rot free. The interior is clean and tidy, and the original radio cassette player, hand books, spare key etc.. are all present. The car is finished in a rare shade of New Zealand blue metallic, and also has electric windows which is an unusual feature.
I have a wad of receipts for the car, and replaced the clutch as it was shot. I also replaced the tyres as they had started to perish, and fitted brand new the headlights as they rusted inside. I also tracked down a decent set of the original wheel trims, which I fitted as the original ones were a bit battered!
The only downside was the car failed the MOT in November 2017, on the rusty front sub-frame. The two front flexible brake hoses, and the rear turrets were rusted at the top in a small area. Plus there was a insecure CV Boot, and the headlights were out of adjustment. Although the MOT tester told me they had corrected the headlights, but when I checked the CV boots were secure so assume they did that also.
I've noticed since it's been laid up, the throttle was sticking. I partly fixed it by replacing the idle control switch, on the throttle body. But realised the fault was caused mainly by the throttle cable itself, I've bought a brand new genuine Fiat throttle cable for the car. I've adjusted the old one for now, so that I can start the car and move it etc..
The heater works intermittently, so I did buy a new heater resistor & fan motor to fix this that needs fitting. The front bumper has a crack, and the bonnet is slightly bent. It's hard to notice and to be fair, and it doesn't affect the operation of the bonnet. There's a small bit of lacquer peel on the bonnet, and passenger front wing.
The sub-frame is available brand new, and I can supply the buyer with details of where to purchase it in the UK. Price is under £140, then there's shipping, so is the only extra part required. As I'll supply the throttle cable, brake hoses, rear turret repair panels with the car.
I do have a brand new bonnet & bumper & grill, that I can supply extra with the car if the potential buyer would be interested. I'm happy to negotiate on that, if that will seal the deal!!
Anyway, I've realized I'm not going to get this car fixed anytime soon. And it really needs to go to someone, who can get it back on the road.
As it's a lovely little car, and deserves to be used and enjoyed especially as summer isn't a million miles away.
Could be an ideal first retro, or a nice project for someone who's got the welding and mechanical skills I sadly lack
I'm not after any swaps, just a genuine person who wants to take it on and give the Fiat some love!!
I don't bite so ask away if you want to know anything, appreciate it's not the cheapest project on here. But you do get 90% of the parts the car needs, and it's a lot less than what I've spent.
