Any other boxs that are a reasonable straight swop over, to give me high top end with lower RPM? thanks

Only direct bolt on is a 306 hdi box, slightly longer ratio. From memory it's about 250-300 rpm at motorway speed. The 6 speed 307 box is possible but requires several modifications to both the vehicle and the gearbox.

As said above the 306 2.0 HDI gearbox has a higher ratio in first gear and in top gear. A common enough conversion for 306 dturbos.

you won't want much longer gearing they don't spool up and pull low down like a modern diesel, peak torque isnt till 3k rpm
