	I was being dragged around one of these out of town retail parks the other day. It was moribund. Drizzly, grey, dull... And then this scruffy brown avenger pulls up in the car park. I don't know if this is what middle age is but christ it looked good! Is brown acceptable now? I'm blaming Dirty Harry for this! Also I'm sure more new cars are brown all of a sudden Is it just me or are there any other perverts out there?

	I for one hate a Brown car. Who goes into a car showroom when it's new, looks through the brochure at the amazing palette of pretty colours such as jade greens, sapphire blues, ruby reds etc and says "Yes please, I'd like the one that matches my poop!" I just don't get the love for the colour.

	British Leyland had a penchant for particularly vile colours in the 70's / 80's including a full palette of browns from sickly neonate's first nappy change through to cirrhotic Guinness drinker's yule log. Brown is a colour that is almost entirely without merit as automotive pigment!

	Brown is a marmite colour you either love or hate it - but it's on it's way back in just about all the new car manufactures have a metallic brown available in their colour range and going back to the 70's all those lovely exotic names that the manufactures gave the brown colour: Ford - Tawney Brown Metallic Rover - Tabaco Leaf BLMC - Russet Brown Its even suitable for Jowetts

	in the 80s, I had a 2 door Corsair painted Rover Mexico Brown, with an BL Old English white Roof, slammed on the floor with genuine 6" lotus SE steels
	Atmo V8 Power . No slicks , No gas + No bits missing . Doing it in style. Austin A35van, very different------- but still doing it in style, going to be a funmoble

	The brown stag is lovely Back in the 80s I had a mate who hated his stag in brown and had it repainted in damask red Originality on stags is always better I think And brown is back in nowadays

	Mixed thoughts then. Definitely a marmite colour, depending on how thin you spread your marmite... I have to admit I've always hated brown cars up until my epiphany the other day. I'm noticing them everywhere now though I think this audi colour would look great on a classic Definitely works on a range rover At the end of the day you've got to ask yourself one question. Do you like brown? Well do you, Punk?

Any surviving pics? No, Sorry, not that I have ever found, it was a quick car too, genuine Ian Walker 1760 pre Flow, on Webbers, Google Ian Walker, one of the Great forgotten Engine builders.

	ok , i'm biased but i love a brown car. when 17 i learned to drive in (among many many other things) my granddads '72 3500 P6 in mexico brown. so brown will always be a happy colour to me!
	'80 s1 924 turbo..hibernating '80 golf gli cabriolet...doing impression of a skip '97 pug 106 commuter...continuing cheapness making me smile! firm believer in the k.i.s.s and f.i.s.h principles.

	Stag browns are Russet (as pictured above) Maple and Sienna. Maple and Sienna aren’t too bad to be honest especially with tan interior.
