Each to their own and it would be a boring world if we were all the same and all of that - but why spoil it by bolting stuff on it that it never had in the first place - it looks dam lovely has it is

I know but I like 4 headlight set up,think nice set chrome rostyles lift it,be keeping all original bits no chopping fit them,easy put back to normal

I had a 2000E manual back round 1986, it cost me £120...………..  The best Cortina, maybe even the best Ford made from the 50s through to the end of the 80s. Just my opinion. |

That looks lovely. They definitely look better with the quad lights on them imo. There's a yellow (glx I believe) been parked up near me for years that has them on.

That looks a beauty, has it recently been restored?
Do you ever follow Pete C on YouTube with his Mk3 Cortina projects?
IMO, I reckon filling out the large wheel arches with a bit of lowering and a set of wider wheels would make it look great, as long as it was kept subtle and in keeping with the style of car.

It certainly looks like a good restoration & well executed - nice aperture gaps and lots of attention to detail - I'll shut up now has I'm not really a Dagenham fan but credit where it's due |

This is a late date version too, granted it's your car but i'd just leave it as is seeing as how nice it looks to start with. Why make it something it's not. |

I had a 2000E on a P Reg In blue with blue interior that looked completely standard on the outside but had first of all a hot pinto and type 9, then a cosworth V6 with MT 75 under the bonnet. Had a great time driving it all over Europe, it was quicker than a mate’s Civic Type R (he tried and failed to keep up!) - yet was far more comfortable and damned cool too!!!
This one looks beautiful, I’d be tempted to convert to manual but then I hate autos! If I had to have an auto I’d definitely look to see if it could be possible to upgrade to a 4 speed auto with some kind of direct drive.
In reality it’s great how it is though, I’d use as-is with a few gallons of rust-proofing wax.

What a great example! I think you did well getting that and as said, limit the mods and make sure you keep whatever you remove nice & dry and well stored. Whats it's past, do you know?

Absolutely lovely. Our family car was a 1976 1.3L in green with a beige roof throughout the late 70's to mid 80's. Replaced with an orange Chrysler Horizon.
My dad sold it to a mate of a mate and remember hearing a story about how he was driving it and saw a wheel rolling the down the road, turns it was the spare wheel which had fallen through the rusty boot floor!
Looking forward to updates, I think these are by far the best looking Cortina.

That’s a real stunner, glad your not changing the front tbh, always liked the look of the square lights on the later Mk3s over the earlier models probably because my old man used one for work in the ‘70s, Rostyles would look good but I reckon it looks perfect with the GL wheels on it at the moment.
