Yo folks!!
Some intel on a recently purchased Fiesta. Was gonna use it as a wintercar,at least that was the plan initially.
BUT,it has soooo very little miles on it,and is basically a new car,so are we gonna subject it to the ravages of a Belgian winter??? Which btw, until last week was still 15 degrees celsius and more, only last few days a bit more chilly, but still bone dry.
Why would i want a "wintercar"? Well i do that every year, since i don't want to use my "decent" cars (Corvette,Buicks,Golf mk1's,Micra Super S...) in sh*tty weather.
Those who "know" me from on here, have already seen my rides, others: go check out my thread "mancave,no!!!i say manHOUSE!!". Currently on General Board, but i have asked the powers that be to move it on Readers Rides too. But hey, look for it,and thou will find my good sons and daughters!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So,
the Fiesta. The last 6 cars i have bought (and since all sold, since i nowadays have a little "gig" called COOLMOTORS,buying and selling cool low mile retro's,have been doing that for years tbh, only lately some dipsh*t neighbour thought that i sold a bit much cars and perhaps made a little more money than he did,so started nagging, and since i have made my wheelin' and dealin' a bit more "official"),so...where the hell was i??
Goddamn,start again.
The Fiesta. The last 6 cars i have "found",i found just sitting by the roadside with a for sale sign on them, when cruisin' around. Or by word of mouth,i get offered cars too, since it's really in the countryside that i live, most people around here know that i am usually interested when they have some older car for sale. This Fiesta was no different; went to Aldi one day(actually,i go by Aldi quite a lot,i drink way too much of their beer tbh,and there are a few girls working there that are "friends with benefits" but hey, none of your business a$$holes!!!!!!!)so,went to Aldi for some biscuits, ahem, and saw the Fiesta for sale at a very nice house. So,Aldi and girls, wait a sec. Stop, ring the door, some old tart with a haircut like Tina Turner opened up. The Fiesta was hers, she had recently gone into retirement (worked at a bank with her husband),and they had bought a new Tiguan, didn't need 2 cars anymore. As it turned out,the Fiesta only got used sometimes for a trip to her mother or the shops (not Aldi, she was a bit of a pompous twit, but friendly),when she and her husband didn't have the same working hours. A short inspection, testdrive,a bit haggling over the price, and it was mine for 1000 euro. Next day the husband went to the MOT station to get me a new MOT (mandatory when selling a car),of course no problem at all there.
So now i have cleaned it(it was pretty much squeeky clean),detailed it a bit more, and am driving it now almost daily for a month or so. I love it tbh. I have had a Fiesta like this before a few years ago,and liked the 1250cc 16 valve a lot!!!
This Fiesta is: bought end of 1996, first registered jan.1997, a GHIA, 1250cc 16 valve, with...21000 miles!! Luckily the lady had it serviced every year at our local Ford dealer,it has 4 brand new Goodyear tires, new Ford battery, all the fluids and filters had been changed just 6 months ago(she had this done because she drove it so little, and a real big maintenance was a few years ago)...it really needs nothing. And she was a "normal" driver,ie,not driving around like a snail(i mean so slow).
So now i sometimes think: this is a real time capsule, should i keep this, since it's unlikely i am gonna find one like this again, and i really like it. It is so "firm riding",no rattles, just a new car feel. I know it is not a collectible ST or something, but hey,i bought it cheap (imo),i like it,it was only 314 euro insurance for a year... we will see. You guys and girls are welcome to share your thoughts on it!!
