I've had a couple of later Tourings, but always loved the look of the E30 - just such a neater, less bloated looking, car. They're on my "one day" list, but I ought to get my Impreza running again first!

Looks great. Rally Prep are only just up the road and have known the guys a few years. Castle Combe is just one of those tracks I just couldn't get to grips with. I might have to go back in the spring though.

So we did our first round of Winter Series Cone sprint at a local airfield at the weekend and it was great fun. I ended up beating everyone by 1.8 seconds on the 1st layout so opted out of the results as I run the events so wouldn't have been very fair.
The E30 is perfect for this sort of work and made me look a bit of a hero lol.

A cool car indeed!
Was this for sale a couple of months ago? If so, my friend came surprisingly close to buying it.
It was between:
-This (or another one if it wasn't this one) -Track prepped E36 328i -Stock E46 330i -Track prepped 5 pot Focus ST.
His choice was a strange one out of that list!

Yes it was on ebay but I found out it was a mate that owned it down the road so went and grabbed it.
I assume he went with the ST haha.

Had same rims on an E28 some years back. Very nice indeed.
Obviously your call but I have a thing for white track BMW, with grey for interior and cage. I just find black cars a pain to keep clean. Sure it'll look great either way.
Can I ask what spring rates you're running? I'm planning on making some changes to my KW's, as I want some more compliance, so keen to know what others are doing? I'm trying to find somewhere local to do the geo' and corner weights though and that's proving a tough call so far.

Hi Mark, The car should be mostly track use so should only get dirty with brake dust and rubber Currently I'm not sure on spring rates as I have Gaz golds rear and some random setup upfront so its not perfect. I'm going to get a full setup of Gaz gold and then figure the best rates for what it weighs and will post up here . I have a guy here in westbury and they are awesome, Harveys Motorsport. They race themselves including BMW compact cup and have setup loads of my cars In the past. makes a world of difference every time.

Rimscarnated – Ultimate Custom Wheel Builds - New BMW E30 Touring Sponsor So as I just purchased some pretty cool rims but really wanted to go a bit wider if I can I got in touch with local wheel specialist Rimscarnated, Chippenham. Now I’m not talking “specialist” as in a quick repair and powder coat although that is something they can offer. These guys are real wheel specialists sourcing and customising some of the coolest and rarest rims in existence. Split rims are more commonly associated with the stance scene however 99% of split rims originate from the 70’s/80’s motorsport era and are still popular in many race series throughout the world due to being able to customize the exact fitment you want to get the most grip on the setup you have. So I have left My 15”x7” Zender wheels with Isaac and Dave for them to remove the current lip and increase the width from 7J to 8J. Not only should they look really awesome but I should be able to shave the weight from 8.7KG per rim as well as having a wider setup to sit tyres on. I’m going square offset and width all round as that seems to work well on track based BMW but we can always change that with different lips and other adjustments at a later date. There are no end of advantages when using split rims for Track use including being able to replace parts of the rims separately after any damage and change widths to alter grip levels and the way the car drives without having to keep buying new sets of wheels. I’m super excited to kick this project off with the lads and will be sharing more on it as we lead up to Christmas. In the meantime check out their work on their FB page and Instagram. If you like Retro car from any country you are bound to drool over some of the rims the refurb and custom build.

So a few updates really. The lads at Rimscarnated are in the middle of putting new lips on the Zender wheels, We are actually going 8.25J now they should look awesome wrapped in semi slicks. They have removed the original lip on lathe and we are waiting on new lips to arrive from France. Also I managed to get a bargain set of Gaz Gold Coilovers from Ebay. I already had Gaz rears but this full set came up of the new style and I couldn't resist. I have also been playing around with new livery with all our new 2019 sponsors on Even more exciting I have just confirmed my slot for some ice driving on the lakes in Norway in Jan so I need to raise the car and get some ice tyres.
