Hi Guys.
I can't find an answer anywhere online, I don't know if that's a good or bad thing really!
I know that the rules on diesel emissions got a lot stricter in May, but don't know if this will affect TDis that have had a remap?
I'm thinking pre DPF/pre 2005 diesels.
Anyone got a remapped car that has passed the 'new' MOT properly?
Ta.

If it has been remapped properly and not just belching out soot, it should be fine Removal of cats, DPF, and egr valve or other emissions equipment obviously tampered with or renderred inoperative is another story though. Had more than a few standard (but not very well serviced/thrashed) diseasal vehicles not even get close to the smoke limit sticker

My 2005 Passat is mapped and passed properly with no emissions issues.
There is often an emissions limit printed on the vin plate (in a square box in the corner) and the car should meet that.... However if it is missing/ unclear then the limit is 3.00 which is higher than it used to be I believe 😉

Oddly enough I failed a car recently down to the vehicle limit being ridiculous 2002 vw t4 with a 0.3 limit . These in good fettle will be around 1.2-1.5 which was always a fast pass on the old 3.0 limit . Comes back a few days later with the sticker cut to remove the limit expecting it to get tested to the old limit but as I pointed out it failed on the fact the vehicle limit was there at the time of test so can’t ignore it now
