I've by no means got a large collection of 1:43 scale, but I've recently acquired a couple that I think are thread worthy... It was my brother-in-law's birthday recently and, as he shares my passion for vintage race cars, I got him a 1:43 Porsche 917 in Martini livery (1971 Le mans winner). Needless to say, he was pleased; but his joy was only outweighed by my jealousy... Something needed to be done, so after much deliberation, these found their way over from Germany: Untitled by Adrian Child, on Flickr Untitled by Adrian Child, on Flickr Like the one I bought for my brother in law, they are CMR models so not too expensive. But, for the money I am pretty pleased with the detail. Untitled by Adrian Child, on Flickr The silver Martini 917 is the 1971 Sebring 12h winner. The race damaged Gulf 917 is actually boxed as being the 1971 Daytona 24h winner. Whilst this is true (this #2 917 did win the 1971 Daytona 24h), the damage shown on this model actually happened during the 1971 Sebring 12h (the same race the Martini liveried 917 won). Anyway, geeky facts over, here's some more images: Untitled by Adrian Child, on Flickr Untitled by Adrian Child, on Flickr Untitled by Adrian Child, on Flickr Untitled by Adrian Child, on Flickr Hopefully, more 917's will be making their way into the collection soon

Nice models, you could certainly build an entire collection around 917's.
I've got the Le Mans (winner) version of that Martini one, a Brumm model so not the best. Need to get the '70 Le Mans winner.

Yeah, I knew it would be dangerous getting a 917 as I'm now wanting so many others. Thinking about the 3 variants of the Gulf livery from 1970 Le Mans next Not seen a Brumm model in the flesh yet. From images I've seen, they seem a bit hit and miss, some look really good and others are a bit ropey.

I bought the Brumm model a long time ago before the likes of Spark etc, I'm missing a few Porsche Le Mans winners to add to my collection.
Porsche Le Mans winners;
'70 & '71[got] 917
'76 & '77 Martini 936 '79 Kremer 935 [got] '81 936 [got] '82[got] & '83 Rothmans 956 '84[got] & '85 Newman-Joest 956 '86 & '87 [got both] Rothmans 962 '96 & '97 TWR-Porsche WSC95 '98[got] GT1-98 '15, '16 & '17 919 Hybrid So that's 12 models I need, say at an average of £50/model (IXO Le Mans winners collection) £600 Although the CMR models a e 'only' £25.99 on eBay... oh b*****r just found 'hooked-on-models' shop on eBay, whoops just ordered the '85 956 (I've got an IXO model of the '84 car so will be interesting to compare) was very tempted by the 'hippie' 917L
I'll get some images up of the ones I've got, some are better models than others.

Yes, would be intrigued to see how it compares to the IXO. I got those 917's from CK-modelcars.de . Actually worked out cheaper than ebay even with postage (especially if you get more than 1 ) and delivery was pretty quick. Dangerous website though; at one point I had a LOT in my basket, had to be very strict with myself!

Curses I visited CK-modelcars, the cart ended up with 12 models ~£250 and thta was being sensible, pruned it down to ~£40.
I hope I'm home (and my wife isn't) when the parcel arrives!

I did warn you! Mine get sent to my work address so they can be introduced to my house at opportune moments... Normally in a bag under cover of darkness!

Never really intended to do the whole diorama thing, always used to just have them floating about on my desk or shelf; but was actually a little inspired by your thread... Blatantly stole your idea of wet & dry for the road surface. Only had one unused bit left which was a bit dirty and scuffed, but I think it actually adds to the workshop floor effect. The background was a freebie download from www.scalemodel.photography. His stuff is intended for Hot Wheels size stuff, but if you print it at 149% then, hey presto, its at 1:43. Ideally need to print it on A3, but don't have an A3 printer at my home office, so just used a section of it for now.

A couple more of my models and a bit more diorama fun... This is an Oxford Models Jensen given to me when my son, Jensen, was born... And here with my Vanguards E30 UntitledI like the Vanguards stuff, good weighty models and good detail, although as MiataMark has pointed out on his when comparing to the minichamps E30 M3, the wheels on this are a bit wrong, measured them and it's because they are 17" not 15". Still, I do like this E30... Untitled Untitled Had a mess about and tried the E30 wheels on the Nevada beige Golf... Untitled Kind of like it! I will be changing the wheels on the Golf at some point, just got to find the right ones...

That Jensen looks great, I've got some 1/76 Oxford Diecast models but haven't got any 1/43 ones (yet). The diorama looks superb very 3D, I'm going to have to work harder at mine.
You are however a bad influence, my CMR model has arrived and waiting for a parcel from CK-modelcars!

Yeah, the tool cabinets and the first aid box were very fiddly! Tempted to re-print this one after a few customisations to the walls/cabinets
