So I actually bought this in December 2013 just 10 days after the birth of my second child. I knew the owner before he moved to LA so I had confidence in buying sight un-seen and he was good enough to keep it till well into February so I could buy parts and ship them to his home address where he put them in the car. Hmm I'm having trouble with pictures. I will hit create thread and see if I can sort it out in a bit.

This was the car when it was still in L.A And this is it at Pendine this year. It was quite a long journey between the two.

This was the car the day I bought it back from Felixstow. On the back of my poor old Merc. I put that poor thing out of its misery 2 1/2 years ago.

Thank you for the kind words. I am intending to do a bit of a build thread to get to the point its at now. But I've been away in the car this weekend as it served as one of the three weddimg cars for my Niece. All supplied by her uncle's. There was mine a mk3 Zodiac and an early Mustang notchback.

This was the first car I'd bought in from the states and I was pleasantly shocked out how little rust it had. As far as I could tell this was the original paint. This was around the end of April 2014

I found these two and one more mumified rats inside. I should of kept them but the whole interior was just disgusting so I ripped all the soft stuff out and took it to the tip. It was so dusty you just wanted to spit everytime you got in the car. Below was how the state of the removable toe board. I ended up removing the column shift as I already had the Ford F1 truck Gearbox and matching 8BA flathead. I pulled the rear axle and stripped it down it looked to have been freshly rebuilt, so I quickly put it back together cleaned it and painted it in BLMC Damask red. I don't know any history of the car. but I think it may have been a failed restoration. It came with no engine box or rad. The wrong steering wheel and model A drums and hubs which simply do not work with 47 Ford spindles and half shafts. These facts would suggest to me it was used as a parts car for a period hot rod. The reason I think it is a failed restoration is it came with boxes of brandnew brightwork and rubber parts. Also the paint had been removed from the inside of the arches and bulkhead. These old fords came with press out metal discs all over the bulkhead, alot of mine had been pressed out I had no idea what holes I required so welded everything up. The welded patches required a thin skim of filler I treated the bare rust prior to this. There is a patch of primer at the bottom of the A panels I had reconstructed these prior to prepping the bulkead. the corosion was restricted to the bottoms of the A panels and rear quarters. There were also a few small holes around the floors. I used two good coats of Etch and then two coats of an 80s Ford colour I forget which but its a biegey cream. The motor rebuild consisted at this time of new plugs new fanimold gasket and two coats of damask red. This changed later but not dramatically. These pictures would of been July or August 2014. I had, had a 5 year build of my model A prior to this and really didn't want another long build. In August 2014 still and I had started the corosion repairs. I really am not a fan of upside down welding so I cut the bottom of the quarter to gain access to the inner panels. So that takes us upto August 2014 and I was really getting under way with getting it on the road. I had the target of the Jesters (my club) party in may 2015 and then Pindine in June 2015.

Amazing! I bet that was a big sigh of relief seeing it turn up in such good condition. I'm bringing my first yank over atm with much anticipation... Fingers crossed. I was pleased with it when it turned up. As I said up at the top I knew Nick when he lived in the UK so I was confident he wouldn't sell me a junker. I hope yours works out well. I loved checking the tracker to see where the boat was. That is until it got stuck over on the other side of the Panama canal for about 2 weeks.

I left off with me removing some old grot from the bottom of the quarters. these pictures run from the end of August to the end of October. I was working real hard on this then especially considering we has a 2 year old and less than year old at the time I always wanted period looking plug leads. I bought these copper cored leads and suppressed caps. I still love em now although they don't look as pretty now. I tacked the bottom of the quarter on first having rebuilt the inner structures and repairing the bottom of the quarter itself as that had completely rotted out. I closed in the end at the wheel arch. It all ground in very nicely I was pleased with that as a repair. The shuts were a bit fiddly as they had gone in this area. Like I said before I had cleaned the axles and repainted them. I bought a tanks inc tank. It wasn't exactly a perfect fit but it works well. I had to cut the floor though to leave access to the fuel pick up pipe. It was nice having so many new parts to bolt together though. Lastly I thought I'd leave some pics of what really inspires me with the style of this build. First up Dick Bertollucis 40 Merc (I take no credit for this pic) Marcia Campbells amazing 42 Coupe.(again I take no credit for this pic)
