Not a great time: Mum's House, (where I've been staying to help for most of the last 2-years) burnt to the ground while I was away for a few days. Thankfully she's OK, My 88 Integra & Rusty air-cooled Z-360 didn't fare so well. Hot enough for the rear 1/4's to sag under their own weight & glass headlight lens' to melt out of their housings. What to save? Thinking I might retain Integra's factory wider steel wheels, disc-brake rear beam, DOHC drivetrain & muffler (that sounded great with rusted-out innards). For an '87 Crx ballade project. Panels look uselessly bent, but perhaps keep some bits for rust repair patches.. Steering wheel frame to cut up as an adaptor boss/hub for aftermarket wheels..

That sucks, man. Sorry to hear it. Hopefully something is worth saving. If it got that hot, though, would the steels strength not be weakened a bit?

That's bad news, I really hate the site of a burnt out car
The most important thing is your Mum is safe nothing else really matters, any idea what happened?

Hi, A word of caution, modern plastics when burnt leave a dust/ash that's carcinogenic even to the touch. Which is why scrap/breakers yards don't let the public near them and are crushed ASAP. So be aware.

So be aware. Colin This. I wouldn't touch anything on those cars, and pretty much everything on them will be junk anyway given how hot they have been. I know that isn't really what you want to hear, but I think from a heartbreak point of view you need to just let them go.

Just as well 1988 isn't particularly modern... I'll have to find time to fix up its more abused & rusty backup.

Just as well 1988 isn't particularly modern... It's modern enough to not risk your long term health over.

Unsure of cause.. Thinking electrical; early in morning & well alight before mum noticed. Totally burned down so hard to confirm. Cedar clad outside, Ash walls & wood structure, so not much left & burned hot enough to melt glass & floor tiles brittle. Radiant heat burned tree leaves 20m from house. Still sifting the ashes for some Matchbox cars that managed to survive.
Fence wheels early CRX Ballade for that project, with another set on '81 Prelude. Glad I found the set even before I found CRX.. Deserves rear disc brakes.. Even if only for caliper brkts & a reference for alternative parts.

Also, those wheels against the fence are cool! I had to go back and look, indeed superbly excellent wheels.
