Outstanding stuff guys, I have fitted a Blaupunkt London into my SD1, the sound is truly wibblepoo...ah the eighties

Ignore the Bluupunkt decal , that was done to wind up a friend of mine who swears by all things Blaupunkt .
This is a Goodmans RC that I have had lost in a pile of boxes for twenty five years . I had a cd player in my E24 but was fed up carryoing all the cd's around . I pulled this one down from the loft to see if it worked ,wired it up and plugged an MP3 player into the cd in socket and out came a more than acceptable sound, granted I have some good quality speakers in the car . Adjusting the sound mode on the MP3 player just made it better and with the addition of a simple bluetooth receiver it all became very neat and tidy.
This one was OK but I picked up another exact same one brand new in the box NOS one off Ebay for £20 which sounds even sweeter.
A "cd in " radio cassette is definately the way to go for a retro look with modern practicality .

Speakers in the SD1 never were the best, just changing mine for some better spec.

Rimmers sell a fibre glass copy, they do pop up on Ebay at times too.
Trying to find a series 2 dash and 2600 head/cam carrier assembly myself at the minute.
