So I’ve ended up with this beast! I was looking for a cheap to run/tax/insure 1 Litre car and ended up with a wafty old barge that bounces like your in choppy seas. It came to me via a deal and didn’t cost me much apart from a little time and materials. It needs an alternator, welding in a few usual places and some window seals. But I intend it to be a long term project and hopefully a useable family wagon.

So Thursday I jacked it up to change the wheels as I need a new tyre and found this 😬 Did a part time fix (bodge) and will get it sorted over the winter and drop subframe off and renew bushes etc while I’m at it. Dropped it on the floor and the tyres were flat with no inflator at work 🙄

So after a lovely weeks holiday in Anglesey I thought I would ready myself for work by sticking fuel in last night. Got home and noticed a puddle under the tank, curse word!!
It had previously been bodged so I’m not sure what’s lurking. It’s where the elbow meets the tank and it’s flush with the bottom of the tank so ended up draining most of the fuel off into jerry cans, most annoying and back on the bus this morning.
Anybody have any quick fix tips? 😢😢

Anybody have any quick fix tips? 😢😢 Take the tank off and get it to tank / radiator repair specialist - it will be significantly cheaper than a new tank - bodging insitu will only lead to tales of woe & frustration and no sooner will you think that you have it sorted that it will be back to haunt you - only other option is find a good used tank but they probably all hold the same issues has the one you have fitted currently
