Hi guys
Not been on here in a while so thought I'd check in as the old girls aout to be pulled out of storage to turn the cogs for the remainder of summer!
She's a very early 633csi which I took ownership of a couple of years ago but has been in storage since. It's a credit to its former elderly owner who took on a semi restoration from initially buying it as a parts car for his other later 633. It's had more or less everything replaced mechanically and the body is in fairly good shape too in the usual area's
I love the sharknose 6 series and always wanted to own one and she came up for sale a couple of years ago at a decent price so pulled the trigger.
It's a 1977 car and apparently only 1 of 16 UK cars so pretty rare. It's also come under the historic car classification this year being 40 years old so tax and MOT expempt so glad to finally get something back from the DVLA!..she's still be getting an MOT check though yearly.
Personally I prefer it over the later e24 based 635csi as it has none of the bodykit/spoilers/front valance etc of the later cars and is a real timepiece of the past. Problem is parts are very rare now and hard to get hold of so hoping future upkeep won't be too much of an issue.
It's not that quick by tonday's standards but is a pleasure to just poodle around in and really has the retro factor which I really dig.
It was featured in a recent article celebrating 40 years of the 6 which I've attached if anyone's wants a read.
Thanks for taking the time to read my thread and hope you like the old girl
