Long story short, I stashed away a mini in the early 90s, well before sorn was in existance. I had all but forgotten about it until my dad mentioned clearing out some of his storage and that it was still there. It is going to need restoring but is worth a sight lot more now than when I laid it up. Am I likely to come across any issue with the dvla? I do have the old style log book in my name and parents address and is does show up on check app I use

If you've got the blue style logbook with document reference number on the front, you can tax it at a post office once it's MOT'd and insured. Likewise you can sell it using the green slip. Shouldn't cause any hassle.
Alternatively you could send your old one in for change of address (assuming by "parents address" you no longer live there). You'll then get a new logbook. Just remember to SORN once that turns up.

FYI it won't need a SORN if it's not been taxed before 1998 (I think that's the date, but deffo some time in the 90's), even if you apply for a new logbook. Just leave it as-is until you need to tax it for road use. And just tax it as you would a normal car.

I was intending to just leave it as is until its done, just didn't want to get to a stage where had loads of money in it and it was going to have issues with paperwork.

Would be wise to take the number plate off the Internet, just incase someone wants to try and register thr v5 to them.
