So I have some interest in 2 bicycles at the moment a Bratz Lowrider which would ultimately be repainted and used as a show bike. And A Raleigh RSW 16 which possible would be used for a bit of light 1 mile commuting in town or nipping to the shops. Can anyway give me any real world experiences or even photos of cool modified ones?
Photo for attention or even if I am mad enough what the RSW could be turn into

I think this thread will probably get moved to 'Readers other modifications' bucket. This is my Raleigh Twenty 'shopper' redone as a pocket racer Reborn in 2016 by Little Pixel, on Flickr lunch and new old bike by Little Pixel, on Flickr I've done it a few different styles over the years, but the above is its forever mode. (older incarnation) Love 'em. Most problematic with 60s 70s Raleighs is upgrading the crankset as the threading in the bottom bracket is rare and hard to swap with new non rusty parts, but it can be done with push-in cartridges or expensive Phil Wood retaining rings. You might need to shorten the shell. Otherwise everything's up for grabs. Lightening is good, by swapping out steel / chromed steel for Ally, but otherwise the world's your oyster.. My fave RSW pics:

I have a couple of shoppers and really want to renovate them to ride as a daily. But can never ever find replacement wheels.
Preferable narrowish wheels

pistonpopper - Dahon folding bikes actually do quite a few bikes with the 451mm size (same as Shopper - most quoted 20 inch wheels are actually 406mm aka bmx size which won't fit a Raleigh Shopper). These are their sportier bikes so are nice and narrow. You might need narrower hubs also though. Mine are hand-built - I think I scored a couple of vintage french Araya 451 rims. Tyres are Primo Champs - I think 25mm profile - deffo under 1 inch - and best with gumwalls for the retro look

I have two shoppers that both need some love. so will look out for some bmx wheels
Cannot justify bespoke rims for what will essentially be a pub bike.
