Hi All, Any auto box experts ( or anyone with good knowledge of) 2004 BMW 320d Auto, Since buying the car, occasionally on long runs the g/box warning light comes on I had the box serviced etc but it made no difference The box will still work faultlessly in both auto and manual modes Any suggestions what it might be or a remedy ?? Thanks

Get the codes read from the gearbox. It will give you a better idea of what's going on. A £20 OBD scanner won't pull meaningful codes (if any!) but something like INPA or MyCarly will.
If you are in the vacinity of Warwick I can scan the car with INPA for you. It's not something I'd ignore anyway.
Given the weather I'd say the warning is possibly saying the gearbox is getting hot. But again, I'd read the codes first.

Thanks ChasR I'm not close to you (thank you for the offer) but will get the codes read (I wondered if it might be a "heat issue" as it only shows on long runs or in hot weather)
