Thank you quickrack!
I've been reading about your adventures with rescuing Fords and creating cool stuff for the wife,kids,garden...very entertaining.
I wil start with the "build"threads soon, however,i bought all my cars in quite good shape,so i hope not to disappoint too many people, because it's gonna be more about finetuning,detailing,wheels,servicing...that kind of stuff.
I also have other makes of cars, check out "introduce yourself",i've posted more pictures there.
See ya!!

Got to love that generation of Corvettes, they just look so right. Great collection, can't wait to read all about it - and don't worry, we do enjoy fiddling with details here, not just endless restoration projects

A fine assemblage of Yank iron!
I love a lot of US models but I couldn't cope with a lhd on rhd roads. My favourite Riviera is the 'boat-tailed' incarnation, inspired design!

Quick update. I bought the white GS first,in 2004. I went to a small swapmeet in Roeselare(fabriekspand, swapmeet from "t echappementje",translated as exhaust),not really lots and lots of cars there, but always the not so obvious ones,i.e.no mgb's,porsches,vdubs,mustangs...all very nice cars, but i've seen enough of those tbh. So,the very first car i saw when entering the building was the Buick GS. It was for sale by an old chap who mainly dealed in Mercs, but got the GS in from a business trip to the US(buying Mercedes cars),brought it over to Belgium, drove it himself for a short period, and now moved it on. It had been given a respray in the US,due to the New Mexico scorching sun,had some aftermarket Magnaflow exhausts, new tires around, new battery, and a service. Interior as new, extra set of gauges (tach, oil pressure, oil temp). You are not allowed to start the cars inside the building(noise, smoke),but he did anyway, and it sounded real nast because of the the Magnaflows,it revved real quick, you could hear the engine was a lot stronger than a standard one,it picked up immediately, and when revved,it shook the entire car!! Short story: i bought it,there and then, although i hadn't driven it,only heard it rev. So i paid a deposit,we did the paperwork, and i did the rest of the swapmeet. But my mind was on my GS,and after an hour or so,i stayed with the old chap and my new purchase, and swapped stories of the USA (by then,i had been going to the US every summer, from the year 2000 on). I only went to collect the car a few weeks later. I bought it at the swapmeet in februari, but then we got two weeks of really bad weather (snow, hail),and when that was over,a mate and i went over to Roeselare by train (and z-plates,garage numberplates for collecting not yet registrated cars),drove it home, and then i had the chassisnumber (vin) engraved in the chassis of the car. That is mandatory here, because the vin is only on a riveted-in plate behind the windscreen, too easy to steal-remove,so it has to be engraved in the chassis itself. Cost was 150 euro for that. Then i started detailing it,painting a few spots where the paint had flaked off, polished the wheels, repainted the centres black... Also masked off the engine bay,and repainted the engineblock red, painted the ancillaries black, gave it a new service, new transmission oil,and one new trackrod which was knackered. And then the cruisin' could commence!! A few more recent photos too...(although in the winter).
