I have a Sun DGA-1800 Gas analyser. It won't display a gas reading because the gas calibration has drifted sufficiently that it needs attention. The Snap-on technician suggested that would be difficult to arrange, I'm not sure whether that's just generally difficult, or whether he'd picked up on my reluctance to pay anything. The former, I think. The unit lights up, does everything it might, apart from actually analyse exhaust gas. So, I'm offering it here in case anyone has one that wants another for spare parts. It's in South Cheshire, and I'm not prepared to post it. I don't want anything for it, and if there's no interest in a reasonable time frame it can go for scrap. It's a pity to scrap something like this, but without the gas calibration it's just taking up space.

Sorry, I didn't see your post. Yes, it's still available, for now at least. I searched out this ad so I could update it with a "last call" - I'm tidying the shed (don't laugh!) and it's taking up space that I could use. So if anyone is still interested, please shout.

I also have a DGA 1800, just removed the calibration . Password is generated daily by Snap On. 212244 (16/04/19). MOT calibration can also be defeated by resetting the clock as long as you have some calibration remaining. Select service menu Select config Select general Select approval Select Standard

Thanks for that. I didn't make it clear above - I phoned Snap-on, they helpfully gave me the daily password and talked me into the menu, but the MOT lock has already been removed on my unit. The calibration issue is because it has detected that things have "drifted", and the only way to get a reading is by having it calibrated. The person I spoke to thought that would be difficult, due to their engineers no longer carrying the correct gases. So 1techmech, do you want another unit for spares? I'd really hate to put it on the scrap pile if anyone can use it, but it's just getting in the way now.

Password is generated daily by Snap On. 212244 (16/04/19). For the sake of reference, in case it helps anyone in the future, the password for May 31st 2018 was 531212. At a glance it looks as if the start is the month and day, except that doesn't work in the code that 1techmech posted. Last call for this, in any case, if there's any interest.
