I have a mate with a VW Baywindow who needs a bit of guidance, he's not on here so i'll post his question directly
My bay first registered 9/1/78 so it falls 1 day past the easy date to go with, but the www.vw-mplate.com data shows it was built October 1977. My reading is "I know the build date is 1977" so I don't fall into "If you don't know then go by the first registered date" but sure as eggs is eggs, if I take my logbook into the post office to send off they'll look at the first regd date and say no and even if they do send it off DVLA are going to want some kind of proof. Can anyone see where on the DVLA website I need to provide anything more than "I know it was 1977" ?
Does anyone know for certain exactly what the proof or evidence the DVLA will need for build date? will this suffice or will he need a VW birth certificate as concrete proof?
Cheers
